A CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN VASE  

Unmarked, probably France, possibly Sevres, 2nd half 19th century

An oviform vase flanked by two gilt handles, realistically modeled as lion-like mystical creatures,

finely painted with a genre scene depicting a bare breasted seated mother feeding her sleeping baby with her two other kids next to her,

within shaped oval cartouche decorated with gilt beads and flower garlands,

the back of the vase is painted with a bouquet of flowers against white background within a similar gilt bead and flower garland decorated cartouche

Hight 22 1/2 in. (57 cm)
