Of oval form, the surface enameled in translucent red over a wavy guilloche ground, with oval aperture within a beaded border,
all within a leaf-tip chased border and surmounted by a tied-ribbon crest,
the reverse with a dedication inscription to V. V. Pokrovskiy dated 1925, scroll silver-gilt strut
Marked K. Faberge in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial Warrant, workmaster’s mark of Anders Nevalainen and 84 Russian silver standard
Height (including crest) 7 5/8 in. (19,3 cm), width 5 in. (12,7 cm)
Light wear to the reverse consistent with age. Good overall condition.
Vladimir Vladimirovich Pokrovskiy, a Bolshevik and civil servant, was a member of the Petrograd Soviet and Deputy Commissioner of Narkompros.
He later served as a member of the Leningrad City Council, Chairman of the Board of the Academy of Cooperation and Chairman of the Organizational Committee of the Pedagogical Institute.
