A PAIR OF MEISSEN PORCELAIN PARROTS

Meissen, mid 19th century

Each naturalistically modeled with brightly and elaborately colored plumage,

one with gilt collar and holding cherries in its claw, perched on a tree stump applied with leaves.

Marked under bases, one with blue crossed swords mark and number 14., incised model No. A43 and impressed number 20,

the other with blue crossed swords mark, incised model No. A43b and impressed number 93.

Height 17 in. (43 cm)
