A FABERGE SILVER-MOUNTED WOODEN CIGAR BOX

Anders Nevalainen,  St. Petersburg, 1899 – 1908

The case veneered with birch, the hinged cover applied with scrolling floral mounts,

centered with a cast and chased oval with the central elements of the Russian Imperial Seal,

the rim with ribbon-tied reeded mounts and the base with beaded mount

Marked Faberge in Cyrillic with Imperial warrant, workmaster’s mark of Anders Nevalainen and 84 Russian silver standard 

Width 8 7/8 in. (22,3 cm), depth 4 7/8 in. (12,3 cm), height 2 1/4 in. (5,5 cm)

CONDITION:

Some scratching and wear to the bottom, a few small hairline cracks (hardly noticeable) on the lid due to age (see image 3).  Good overall condition.
