An absolutely stunning enamel box, of rectangular form with cut corners, on four figural champleve enameled feet shaped as peacocks,
enameled overall with varicolored birds on foliate branches within white enamel geometric borders,
the detachable cover similarly decorated

Width (bird to bird) 5 7/8 in. (14,2 cm), height (to top of cover) 3 1/2 in. (8,9 cm), depth (bird to bird) 5 in. (12,7 cm)
Some staining to the bottom. Scratching and wear to the interior consistent with age. Good overall condition.
Champleve enamels of this quality and complexity are extremely rare.
